Garden Design

Kevin Walsh knows that every client's needs and desires for their garden are different. Each garden is designed in consultation with you, the client, in view of the way you and your family use your garden space. When developing the design concepts, the style of your home, climate, environment, and maintenance needs will also be taken into consideration.

Kevin will offer practical solutions to your problems and design a garden tailored to your requirements, space, and budget.
Our motto is Save time and money: do it right the first time.

Garden creation

When the decision has been made to undertake the creation of the garden you can get a quote on the whole construction project, or a breakdown on parts of the garden if required. Kevin has a team of qualified sub-contractors he uses for construction work. If you have a preferred landscape contractor you wish to use, Kevin is available to oversee or advise the contractor in stages of the job, to ensure the project runs smoothly.

Some of the gardens designed by Kevin

Different styles of garden are illustrated in these pictures. The houses for which they are designed are very different.

Consider which styles of garden suit you and your house. Kevin has designed many gardens, including:

  • Waterwise gardens
  • Period gardens
  • Modern gardens
  • Courtyard or small gardens
  • Public and institutional gardens

His recent projects include many waterwise gardens: a topical issue, and a problem which many people are considering this year.

garden with stunning stone wall
ABOVE: A stunning retaining wall built from sandstone with contrasting brick path. Seaside daisy (Erigeron karvinskianus) and other low-growing plants soften the edges.

wood pergola
ABOVE: The timber pergola in the foreground is a wonderful haven in summer as an outdoor eating and entertaining space. The curving stone-edged path with catmint (Nepeta) invites you further into the garden, leading to the vegetable patch, clothes line, and chookyard.

path and pergola
ABOVE: This timber structure provides a striking entrance from the carport to the house. Contrast is provided by the use of slate pavers edged with bricks, while the use of low-growing shrubs and ground covers makes a successful combination.

nasturtiums

ABOVE: This ornamental herb garden with central sculptural feature was created as a focal point over an old water well— with practical use, as it is sited outside the kitchen.

a small pond
ABOVE: The pond is built from local sandstone and is complemented by the random slate paving with brick edging. The mixed planting provides a variety of foliage colours and textures, creating year-round interest.

nasturtiums
ABOVE: This magnificent sandstone retaining wall provides an interesting backdrop for the raised garden bed which is also used for sitting in this entertaining area.
